נוּצַח – to lose, to be defeated

October 6, 2011

Just as there has to be a winner in (most) games, there also has to be a loser. At the very least, knowing the verb ‘to lose, to be defeated’ is something useful for either talking about your own team, or for taunting the fans of the opposition.

Root: נצח

ּBinyan: פוּעַל

Present Tense
Male singular מְנוּצָח
Female singular מְנוּצַחַת
Male plural מְנוּצָחִים
Female plural מְנוּצָחות
Past Tense
אני ַנוּצַחְתִי
אתה נוּצַחְתָ
את נוּצַחְתְ or נוּצַחַת
הוא נוּצַח
היא נוּצחָה
אנחנו נוּצַחְנוּ
אתם נוּצַחְתֶם
אתן נוּצַחְתֶן
הם נוּצַחוּ
הן נוּצַחוּ
Future Tense

את תְנוּצַחִי
הוא יְנוּצַח
היא תְנוּצַח
אנחנו נְנוּצַח
אתם תְנַצְחוּ
אתן תְנוּצְחוּ

חבל. במשחק קדורגל היום, הסטילרס נוצח להריינס. אולי השנה הבא.
Too bad. In the football game today, the Steelers lost to the Ravens. Maybe next year.
