T-Minus Ten Days

June 20, 2017

Ten more days until my experiment begins.

I’ve ended up having bigger things to worry about than browsing on eBay for more disks, so I’ve just had to reconcile myself to the fact that I’m not going to have more videos to watch.  (Mostly, something came up with my curling, and that had to take priority for a little bit.  Now that it’s squared away…)

I’ve read through two chapters of הארי פוטר ואבן החכמים, and the second chapter’s gone more easily than the first.  Part of it is that I’ve upped my targets daily on Memrise, and I’m hammering down on my vocabulary before the month starts.  It’s helping certainly, both in terms of the reading and in some of my receptive comprehension when I’m listening to songs on the iPod.  (I’m up to about 4 hours of music, now, so I can shuffle it without hearing the same songs day after day…)

On a positive note on the resource side, I’ve found a second TV station – כאן, the new broadcasting authority, also doesn’t geoblock their streams, so there’s radio and video to catch.  (The downside is they do carry some subtitled US broadcasting, so I’ll have to watch out for that.  Gah.)

But, I’m feeling fairly secure as the month’s approaching.  The last thing I have to absolutely figure out is what my target should be for Camp NaNoWriMo, if I’m really going to do it in Hebrew…
